Taxi transfers are one of the easiest and most flexible ways to travel within the Greater Malé area, including Malé City, Hulhumalé, and the airport region. These standard passenger vehicles operate throughout the day and night and are widely used by both locals and visitors.

Taxis can be easily found near the airport, around major hotels, and at designated taxi stands across the city. Travelers can either hail a taxi directly from the street or book one through local mobile applications.

Some of the most commonly used ride-hailing apps include Avas Ride, Nala Taxi, and Quick MV. These apps allow passengers to quickly request a ride, check estimated prices, and choose their pickup location.

Typical taxi fares are relatively affordable. Short trips within Malé or Hulhumalé generally cost around 30 MVR (approximately $2 USD). Transfers between Malé and the airport are usually about 70 MVR, while rides between Malé and Hulhumalé may range between 85–100 MVR.

Passengers should note that small additional charges may apply for luggage or late-night rides. Even so, taxis remain one of the most convenient and accessible transport options for short-distance travel in the Maldives capital region.
